I gotta say I perfectly remember those days. And I am filled with joy when I think what technology we have nowadays and I cannot even imagine how we will look like after 50 60 years....not we but the world better said. I work at Phoenix Roofing and I have 2 days since I'm thinking about this all the time.

Isn’t all this hue & cry over the conversion to digital (by the stations moreso than consumers) a little out of phase with the reality that it is an extremely small slice of the population for whom this matters? And further, that those people who are in that ’slice’ are most certainly not in the ’sweet spot’ demographically as far as advertising and rates are concerned?

Feels like reading the history of television signal here. I still remember those antenna used in 80s for clearer view on top of house roof. I think it all same for the satellite dish too. The technology improves but the methods are all still the same.
